With all the negative feedback regarding tenant/landlord relations on most current affairs programs, i'de like to let you know not all scenarios are as grim as they make out. My landlord and my family have been living in perfect harmony for around 10 years and i want to share my secret with all tenants. My story starts with a very lack luster garden which we spent minimal dollars on. A few shrubs, cuttings etc, second hand timber borders and some old timber laying around the house saw a brand new garden come to life (including an old shower trough becoming a nice fish pond) my landlords were very impressed.

A few years on we also came to an agreement of installing a brand new kitchen which my landlords purchased and we erected and installed it with pride. It was my first major project which i totally enjoyed doing for very appreciative people. Never had a rent increase in 10 years...So i guess the overall lesson is regardless of being landlord or tenant, look after one another and it can work!
